Hello and Greetings from Canada. I ordered
and received a copy of Abrahams Children's TIME cd.While I was
pleased with the musical content,I was disappointed with the
environmentally friendly package it came in.Is a jewel case version
available and if so,how do I specify this choice in my order
and I will give this bio-degradable copy to a friend who attended
there concert with me in Saint John,New Brunswick,Canada in 1974.All

I was suprised and delighted to find the
CD in my mailbox yesterday. Wow, that was quick. Thanks for suggesting

Jimi B, received my Best of AC and really
enjoyed it. Sound quality was much better than expected and there
was a lot of memories listening to it, however, no Gypsy??? I
hoped it was a joke and looked for it as a hidden track and even
tried playing the flip side but no Gypsy. It was still worth
it but why no Gyspy? Thanks again! Steve

I am looking forward to the "30"
cd. I would also like you to send me the SPACE PATROL "Burning
Love" single at the same time. Should I order it through

By JIM SLOTEK
Toronto Sun - Recently, while lined up at The Sun cafeteria,
I found myself next to Shawn O'Shea of our business office --
the best-preserved grandfather you'll ever meet and a bit of
an old hipster. I admitted to him that in a sentimental moment,
I'd downloaded the '70s radio hit Gypsy from his old band Abraham's
Children, and offered to buy him a coffee in lieu of royalties. He
demurred, good-naturedly, offering the opinion that the song's
been out of print for a long time and it should pretty much be
public domain at this point. I got the feeling he felt it was
just nice to be remembered.
|
 |
Jimi B, it was great to talk to you after
the Hamilton show and I hope that your voice has recovered. You
mentioned that you would send us a copy of the new CD, what should
I do? I enjoyed the promo single and heard many different things,
even an old Beatle flavor in it. I hope you will be back in the
Hamilton area soon and wish you all the best on your tour out
East. Thanks! Steve - Hamilton, Ont.

Well Marisa, your youngest fan may be
my son. If he dislikes a song, he won't waste his time listening
to it - he LOVES Radio Ga Ga and It's a Kind of Magic by Queen
-- but when he listened to Gypsy he just stood there and when
I asked if he liked the song he nodded his head and wanted to
listen to it twice more! He loved the end especially 'when the
wind blows'. :)Allan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (01/28/06) |
 |
Very impressive! You know, all this time,
especially being here in Malaysia, I felt my music collection
wasn't complete (or even my soul) without having the song "Gypsy'.
It's such a haunting beautiful piece that I almost melted just
hearing the clip. Can't wait to get my hands on the CD. Was one
of my all-time faves growing up and it still is.llan, Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia (01/26/06) |
 |
Thanks a million for sending the CD
- I remembered the song Gypsy as a kid and thought it was awesome,
but growing up I thought it was done by Nazareth (dont ask me
why). It wasnt until later that I found out it was done by Abraham's
Children. Allan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (01/18/06) |

CD I purchased and enjoyed hearing again after all those years
is now gone. Having been in the business I must have 2500 CD's

as maybe I will purchase it. Please let me know what you think.Barry,

From a 45 year old that just got his first
computer, Gypsy was my first download and burn. Boy am I gonna
have some fun.As an 11yr old I used to listen to Jim,Ron and
the guys practice in Jims basement. At 70 Hucknall Rd in Downsview
Ont and somwhere on Dufferin St south of Bloor St later on.I
remember Jim as a real nice guy.He new I really enjoyed his music
and Invited my friend Brian and I to watch them practice.Needless
to say it was something I will never forget.I was to young to
go to clubs but was able to buy the vinyl. So if what I see on
the list of up and coming tour dates,I will see them in Woodbridge
in October.I dont know if Jim remembers the little guy down the
hall with four sisters but I sure as hell remember him! I too
play music recreationaly and am sure Abrahams Children was an
influence. Thanks and look forward to a live club preformance.

Hello, - If any of the members of AC are reading
this, I certainly do not expect them to remember me. Back in
the ealry '70's AC came to St. John's, NL for a concert at the
local Arts and Culture Center. Shortly after that, they returned
to St. John's for a series of gigs at a place called The Bella
Vista. I hung out with the band for those nights (I do believe
they played for 3-4 nights) and got to know the lads. I still
have their original AC vinyl with Gypsy and Goodbye Fairwell
cuts. Recently as I was surfing on the internet I typed in the
band's name (not thinking for a minute that they were still together).
To my pleasant surprize, I discovered that they r still touring.
I also understand that they may be in St. John's for a concert.
Is this correct? Like I mentioned previously, I don't expect
them to know me (Rick is my name). I was a young kid who loved
their music and saw them each night they played here many many
years ago. I hope that you can give me some information about
if and when they 're touring in our province. I also recollect
that there was a fifth member (guitar player who, if my memory
recalls, jammed with the Alice Cooper Band in the '70's). Anyways,
hope to hear from the lads if they come to "The Rock."Rick |

Hey Vincenzo and Colleen - great video - great

future plans. Praying for you both. Let me know if you're up
for getting together, maybe a breakfast or lunch sometime - my
treat. cell# Pastor Dave - California |

The idea of sharing many years
with someone in a very intimate musical relationship is triompho.
It was a brotherhood. The bond was more than we could have ever
expected. Then, to lose one of those special people, serves only
to awaken the life in ourselves. All we can do is continue doing
what we do best. Brian was making music till the end. I loved
Brian and will miss him and think of him forever. Ron Bartley - AC |

I will be doing a tribute to Brian tonight
on CHUM between 7-7:30 PM. I'm going to play a segment of the

of the 1970s, Canadian Idol etc. You can listen via the stream
at www.1050chum.com if you're not located within the station's
broadcast range. If you want me to do so, I'll be happy to e-mail
an mp3 of the segment, just reply to this. Scott Carpenter

Hi,I just recently came across the website
of Abraham's Children, oh the memories came flooding back to
1974 when they played at our school Queen Elizabeth Composite
High in Edmonton, my girlfriends and I had the opportunity to
meet and spend sometime with them. It was a wonderful day and
one that won't be forgotten. I received at the time their drum
cover signed by all four.(Jimi, Brian, Ron, Bob) One of them
had the nickname SquirrIey, I think it was Brian. I kept the
drum cover around for years until my parents decided that it
neeed to go once I left home. After touring the website, I was
sadden to hear about Brian, I still remember his sense of humor
and how the four of them could be the best of friends one minute
and angry the next and it was Brian who always turned things
around. When we the girls get together and reminisce about old
times, this is alway brought up, I wonder what happened to Abraham's
Children and now I can share the website with them. This has
been a great afternoon touring the website and catching up on
Abraham's Children. Carol Fort McMurray, AB |

When I think of Brian Cotterill I get
that feeling in my stomach that makes me laugh out loud. Brian
was the kind of best friend that makes me thankful for having
shared some of his time. We both grew up in Scarborough, an east
suburb of Toronto and found each other through our mutual friends
who wanted to play the kind of music that was typical of what
we called the "Toronto sound''. We watched and listened
to the R&B / Rock bands that played the bars and school dances
around Toronto in the 60's and spent many, upon many hours together
trying to emulate our favorite musicians and Brian always made
it fun. He loved to play and never complained when our practice
sessions would go long into the night. He was a real ''half full''
kind of guy who always made our work fun. Brian was a real talent.
He could play and sing with ease and made those of us who played
with him better at what we did. Most of what happened with our
musical careers was a result of hard work but we could never
explain the ''MAGIC'' that was Abrahams Children. Jimi,
Ronnie and I started with the same ambition but it all seemed
to come together when Brian brought his skill and infectious
sense of humor to the band. I will miss Brian Cotterill with
a tear in my eye and a smile on my face .Bob

Hi Jim,
Rick Rawlings here touching base to see if there is anything
planned out for the near future. I sure hope so. A good old Southern
Ontario Tour would be cool so I could catch a few shows. 36 years
is a long time since seeing you and I remember buying the Hot
Love single at I think it was the Bay at Town and Country Mall
at Yonge and Steeles and then the first Album that came out later
on which I think was purchased at Towers at Jane and Finch Mall.
My long term memory is really amazing but short term is starting
to suck a bit. I played the shit out of that album for years
, I was still kind of young and couldn't go to shows. So I'm
really anxious to catch up with you and say hello. Anyway I suppose
it will happen when it is supposed to so I shall see you then.
So good luck with the writing and recording and we shall see
you back home when you get here. Reply any tiime if you can. Thanks
. Oshawa, Ont

Hi Marisa I received the brand new
cd's friday and i'm very happy.Thank you very much for resolving
this problem and thank you very much for the t shirt.I just want
you to know i saw abraham's children in concert back in 1973
when i was 17 and i still love their music as much today as i
did back then.Their concert still remains clear in my mind,They
had such a striking appearance at the time. When goddess of nature
came out i kept waiting for a second album to appear but it never
happened.I have 2 copies of time on vinyl but nothing else until
i came across your website.I'm sure i'll be checking out the
website from time to time.Again thank you very much._______Linda

Dear Marisa - Unfortunately there are
no clips, photos or any kind of footage available from Bandstand.CKCO
TV did have a small clip for their anniversary show but I don't
know where they got it and I have been unable to secure a copy.
I still have many people I run in to who remember the show and
love to talk about it. I have a lot of fond memories and I sure
get choked up when people remember the show and want to talk
about it. Thanks again for remembering and If you come up with
something, I would sure love to get some copies.

your music and i really like it. Very cool vibe nice style. Love
the guitars in Radio Tree. What kind of acoustic did you use
in the intro? Very cool. Take Care!
